Most pedals give you amplitude tremolo or harmonic tremolo, or an either/or switch. Battimento makes the boundary a continuum. A single Blend control morphs from classic optical tremolo — the whole signal swelling in phase — through the partial-shadow middle, into harmonic tremolo, where the spectrum splits at Cross into a light band and a dark band wavering in opposite phase. The battimento is that in-between region where part of the band sits in shadow while the rest is still lit.
